Onion Dill Beer Bread is a savory loaf that marries the sweet, caramelized flavor of onions with the fresh, earthy notes of dill, all enhanced by the subtle tang of beer. The bread is infused with sautéed onions, which add a rich depth and slight sweetness, while the dill brings a bright, herbal freshness that perfectly complements the hearty, rustic texture. The beer contributes a light, airy crumb and a delicate maltiness, balancing the bold flavors of onion and dill. As it bakes, the bread develops a golden, slightly crispy crust, filling your kitchen with an irresistible aroma. Each slice of Onion Dill Beer Bread is a burst of savory goodness, making it a perfect companion to soups, stews, or as a standout addition to any meal.

Ingredients

Ingredients: enriched flour (bleached wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, enzyme, folic acid), leavening (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, corn starch, monocalcium phosphate), sugar, onions, dill seed, dill weed, spices (including paprika and turmeric), salt, corn starch, garlic, natural flavors and extractives of paprika.
Contains: wheat

Directions

Ingredients needed:
★ Onion Dill Beer Bread Mix (with included leavening packet)
★ 12 oz. beer or club soda, room temperature (dark beer will have a nuttier taste)
★ 1/4 cup butter, melted
Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheese (i.e., Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Parmesan)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease 9x5-inch loaf pan. Combine Garlic Beer Bread Mix
and contents of leavening packet in a large bowl. Stir dry mix together thoroughly
with a fork, then add beer. Optional: add shredded cheese. Mix well until blended. Do not eat raw, unbaked batter. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan. Pour melted butter evenly over batter. Allow to set in pan for 15 minutes before baking. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until bread lightly springs back to touch. Bread must be baked thoroughly, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. If cheese or additional ingredients are added, increase baking by 5 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and let cool on a wire rack. Tightly wrap with plastic wrap. Bread may be served after baking, but allowing baked bread to sit overnight intensifies flavor. Sliced bread may be toasted. You may need to alter liquid amounts for high altitude cooking.
