Directions

Ingredients needed:

  • Treasure Valley Tortellini Soup Mix
  • 15 oz. Can Tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 lb Italian Sausage 

In a 4 Quart saucepan brown sausage and drain fat. 2. Add 7 cups water and both spice packets, bring to a boil. 3. Add tomato sauce and tortellini noodles. Return to a boil. 4. Reduce to low, cover and cook for 30 minutes or until noodles are tender. 5. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve. 

Instapot Instructions

Reduce water by 1 cup. Add water, soup mix, tomato and meat to Instant Pot. Lock the lid and seal the valve, set to Soup Mode, or High Pressure. Cook for 10 minutes, allow the pressure to release naturally.

Recipe Variations

Serve with bread sticks or homemade pretzels. 10-15 minutes before the soup is finished, add 1-2 C zucchini, mushrooms, or bell peppers. Use Kielbasa, ground turkey or beef. Replace tomato sauce with 8-oz. can chopped or Italian stewed tomatoes. Prepare without meat, if desired, add meat substitute. Top with grated cheese or parmesan.

Crock Pot Instructions

Crockpot Directions: Add 7 C. water, the entire soup mix, tomato sauce and meat to the slow cooker. Cook on low for 2.5 to 5 hours. Salt and pepper to taste. The longer you leave the soup in the slow cooker the more the noodles will expand. Enjoy!
