Ingredients
Variety of dried beans, peas, lentils and seasoning blend. Seasoning blend ingredients: vegetarian chicken flavored broth (maltodextrin, salt, autolyzed yeast extract, natural flavor, dehydrated vegetables [onion, celery, spinach, garlic, carrot], potato flour, xanthan gum, spices, extractive of spice, and soy lecithin), celery, carrots, spices, tomatoes, garlic, salt, natural flavor and celery seed.

Directions
Ingredients needed:
- Farmhouse Bean Soup Mix (with seasoning blend packet)
- 9 cups fresh water
- 1 pound of meat from list below*
• ham - chopped
• ham hocks - approx. 2 pieces
• ham bone
• turkey or smoked turkey drumstick
• smoked sausage - chopped
• Kielbasa/Polish sausage - chopped
• bacon, uncooked - chopped
• chicken - may add pieces with skin and bones intact, just be sure to remove chicken after a period of cooking time and remove skin and bones; return meat to soup
* This soup may be made without the addition of any meat.
** The addition of salt is optional, according to taste after cooking.
*** The addition of 1 Tablespoon of sugar is optional. If desired, add while cooking.
Directions:
Sort out any foreign substances (i.e., small pebbles, dirt, bad beans) from beans/peas/lentil mixture and rinse thoroughly with clean water before using to assure maximum natural wholesomeness. Place bean variety in large pot, add 9 cups of fresh water, contents of seasoning blend packet, (and meat* and sugar***, if desired). Stir to mix and bring to a boil on high heat. Reduce heat to low and cook (simmer) uncovered for 3 to 5 hours. Cooking time may vary, cook until beans are soft and tender. Stir occasionally; do not let soup scorch.
Slow Cooker Directions:
Follow above directions except reduce water to 8 cups or less and substitute 6-quart slow cooker for large pot. Place lid on slow cooker and cook on low for 12 hours or cook on high for 6 hours. Cooking time may vary; cook until beans are soft and tender. At end of cooking time, remove lid from slow cooker and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes. If using a meat choice that has bones, transfer all meat to a plate, remove and discard skin, bones, fat, etc. Cut meat into bite-size pieces and return meat to soup. To lower sodium content - avoid adding processed meat to soup; consider using chicken or turkey.
